Hot Mess of the Week
2/9/08
This week’s Hot Mess of the Week goes to Patriots coach Bill Belichick.
When his team, defeated by the New York Giants last Sunday at the 42nd Superbowl (effectively putting an end to their almost-perfect season), had to stay out on the field for the final second of the game, Belichick headed for the locker room. Sore loser, Superbowl loser, whatever he is, Belichick abandoned his team at their not-so-finest hour second.
So while he might not have won another Superbowl or a fourth Superbowl ring, he did win Ms. Informed’s Hot Mess of the Week award. That’s gotta count for something, right?

Can’t think of an award i’d rather win. Yea Giants! On Letterman, Eli said that he was trying to beat traffic. That’s about the only thing he might have beat. A cheater and a sore loser! What a combo!

For the record, Belicheck went out onto the field and congratulated the other coach BEFORE leaving the field entirely. He didn’t think the last second would count for anything, obvi.

Technically it doesn’t as the Patriots wouldnt have been able to beat the Giants with a second left, but its still pretty shitty to leave your team on the field when they lose, because you sure as hell know he would be there if they won. Stand by your team Belichick.
