Dina’s on E!

No…not that kind of E. Although it would explain a lot.

All of Lindsay Lohan’s hard years of work, struggle and sacrifice are finally paying off. No, not for Lilo, but for her leech of a mother Dina, who has landed her own TV show — a reality show on E! titled “Living Lohan.” The show will follow Lindsay’s little sister Ali as she tries her hand at fame.

According to the man behind the new show, Real World co-creator Jonathan Murray:

“I think Dina’s a somewhat remarkable woman (who) got married at a young age, raised four kids and her marriage came apart,” he says. “She’s sort of like in this period where she’s coming into her own — the divorce is being put behind her and she’s sort of figuring out the next part of her life.”

…or is she “sort of like in this period where” her daughter’s fame is finally paying off for her, as she always hoped it would? You decide.

No wonder poor Lindsay had so many problems. An attention-whore of a mother and an estranged addict father. With parents like these, who needs enemies?

On the bright side, the (IMHO) extremely talented 21-yea-old actress says her life is back on track after the past few years of out of control drinking, drugs, partying and a climactic stint in rehab.

According to People.com:

“My life was distracted by certain things and that got in the way of work,” said Lohan. “But now, I’m back on track and figuring out what’s next.”

Congrats LiLo!!!

Her Name is Paris
…and She Loves Benji.

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Does anyone else think its odd that Paris Hilton, best friend, ex best friend, best friend, whatever, of Nicole Ritchie, is dating none other than Nicole’s boyfriend and baby daddy’s TWIN BROTHER, Benji Madden?? Maybe it’s just me, but is someone jealous or what???

The pair were spotted on Tuesday at the Linkin Park concert in the Staples Center. When asked if LP was Hilton’s favorite band she replied, “No, I love Good Charlotte.” Wow, I guess even ditzy blonde socialites have a sense of humor!

In other Parisian news, Hilton will have a guest appearance on NBC’s My Name is Earl. Hilton, who is desparately trying to be taken seriously as an actor (especially after her huge flop The Hottie and The Nottie), plays herself in a dream sequence. Really showing your range as an actor there, Paris. Keep up the good work!!

Winehouse, West Win Big at 50th Grammys

Monday, February 11th, 2008

She may not have been there in person, but Amy Winehouse still managed to dominate the 50th Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday night, snagging five of six awards she was nominated for, including record of the year, song of the year, best pop voca and best new artist of the year. Will these wins be a wake-up call for Wino? Let’s hope so.

(U.S. officials initially rejected Winehouse’s request for the work visa she need to attend the Grammys. They then reconsidered, but it was unfortunately too late for Amy to travel across the pond.)

Kanye was the other big winner of the night, though not as big as Wine-y. He scored four of eight awards including best rap album for Graduation, best rap vocal performance for the track “Stronger,” best rap song for ”Good Life” and best rap performance by a duo or group for his collaboration with Common on ”Southside.” West dedicated his wins to his late mother, Donde West, who unexpectedly died in 2007.

Other winners last night included:
Album of the Year: Herbie Hancock, River: The Joni Letters
Best R&B Song: Alicia Keys, No One
Best Country Song: Carrie Underwood, Before He Cheats
Best Male Pop Vocal Peformance: Justin Timberlake, What Goes Around Comes Around
Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal: Maroon 5, Makes Me Wonder
Best Spoken Word Album: Barack Obama

No, of course not, but the day that he was basically handed the nomination after Mitt Romney suspended his bid, good old FOX News inadvertently (maybe) labeled him one.  Coincidence? Probably, but then again I would not put anything past Rupert Murdoch and gang.

They Tried to Get Her to the Grammys…

wine.jpg…but they said “No, no, no.” (Editor’s Note: Ok, this song has officially been retired for use in puns.)

U.S. officials vetoed Amy Winehouse’s request for a Visa to attend this Sunday’s 50th Grammy Awards. The veto comes as a crushing blow to Winehouse, who is up for six awards, second only to Kayne West’s eight nominations. Winehouse six nominations include Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Rehab,” Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Back to Black, as well as Best New Artist.

While Winehouse won’t physically be gracing the Staples Center with her presence, she is scheduled to deliver a virtual performance, via satellite.

Game on!

strike.jpg

While it is not yet official, sources are confident that the finishes touches will be put on a deal that could end the WGA writer’s strike as early as Monday.  Couch potatoes all over the country are breathing a a heavy sigh of relief.

Rest assured, the Oscars will go on, and movies (like the Da Vinci code’s prequel) and television shows (like Ms. Informed’s all time favorite, Scrubs — in it’s final season!!!) that have been at a stand-still since the fall will go back into production.

We’re happy to see the settlement and hope the writers will now get the residuals they deserve for material appearing on DVDs, the internet, cellphones and other new media devices.

Horrible, Horrible Tragedy.

This isn’t really Ms. Informed’s kind of thing, and I do personally hate Katie Couric, but this story is too important not to post.
Please, watch this video.
