It’s official: Mariah Carey, 38, has confirmed her surprise wedding to actor Nick Cannon, 27. The couple had been dating for six weeks when Cannon, proposed on the rooftop of her apartment building. The wedding took place on April 30 at Carey’s home in the Bahamas. Cannon, wore a white suit by designer Balenciaga, and Carey wearing an off-white dress by Nile Cmylo and Christian Louboutin shoes. This is the second marriage for Carey and the first for Cannon.

According to People Magazine, Mariah said:

“We really do feel we are soulmates. I never felt a love like this was in the cards for me”

No, it’s not a sequel to Owen Wilson’s 2006 comedy. It’s a proposition Wilson made to a woman in a Miami bar. According to the Miami Herald, Wilson approached a woman and asked her if she was interested in having a threesome with him and a friend of his. Fellow Wedding Crasher Vince Vaughn happened to be in town that weekend. But according to reports, the woman was “digusted” and declined Wilson’s offer.

Not long after the engagement of her sister Ashlee to FOB lead man Pete Wentz, rumors are flying that Jessica Simpson and her very own romeo Tony Romo will be engaged any day now. Rumors spurred when Simpson’s friends were toasting her “happiness” at a party thrown by P. Diddy last week.

Sources say she wants to beat her little sis down the aisle, and desparate times call for desparate measures. Simpson will do anything to beat Ashlee to the alter and has considered proposing to Romo herself or pulling a “Britney” — getting Romo drunk and going to Vegas.

Simpson says she feels better matched with Romo than with any of her ex-flames including ex-husband Nick Lachey and ex-boyfriend John Mayer. According to Simpson, there was always a rivalry between her and Lachey, and Mayer was too intellectual for her.

A jock is just about on par with Simpson’s level of intellect, I’d say.

On the bright side, she’s probably doing better than Katie Couric.

Snoop Dogg (who has been in the news quite a bit lately) will soon get the chance to appear on “One Life to Live.” According to the rapper, he has always been a fan of the soap.

Snoop will perform two songs from his album Ego Trippin’ and was also given the opportunity to rework the show’s theme song. Snoop’s version of the song will play during the episodes he is on, which will air next month.

Jessica Alba, who is expecting her first child with fiance Cash Warren, had her baby shower last week. She gave each guest a bracelet that said “Life, Love, Health, Et Cetera,” made them say prayers and insisted no one take the bracelet off until the baby is born. (Hope they weren’t ugly.) Apparently the ritual will help to ensure that the baby is healthy.

The baby, due next month, will be named “Honor,” as Alba says it is an honor to be having Warren’s baby. Not the best of names, but beats the hell out of Apple Paltrow. Still can’t get over that one.
