The Skinny on Dieting
Show me a woman who doesn’t want to drop at least 10 pounds, and I’ll show you one who won’t enjoy this book.
But for the rest of us out there, there’s Skinny Bitch.
“If you can’t take one more day of self-loathing, you’re ready to hear the truth: You cannot keep shoveling the same crap into your mouth every day and expect to lose weight.
Authors Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin are your new smart-mouthed girlfriends who won’t mince words and will finally tell you the truth about what you’re feeding yourself. And they’ll guide you on making intelligent and educated decisions about food. They may be bitches, but they are skinny bitches. And you’ll be one too-after you get with the program and start eating right.”
Whoever said being called a bitch was a bad thing?
{thanks to Gina for the suggestion!}

I am currently reading this book but have some gripes about it right off the bat. For a lot of young girls, or even not-so-young girls who just want to drops some pounds to feel better about themselves, this book starts off too drastic. I wasn’t even very far into it before it said, and I know I am quoting this almost exactly “So, yeah, if you want to be skinny, you have to be a vegetarian.” It also talks non-stop about organics, pesticides, etc. Yeah, all important information, but write a health food book if that’s your main agenda. And of course, the majority of thin people are NOT vegetarians. I wouldn’t recommend the book for young girls – it’d probably scare the last bit of confidence right out of them. Baby steps, people, baby steps.
That’s the end of my rant for now.
