Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Fall Out husband Pete Wentz welcomed a baby borough boy named Bronx. And that’s not the worst of it. The boy’s middle name? MOWGLI. That’s right, bear-necessities-Rudyard-Kippling-Disney’s-The-Jungle-Book-Balu-the-Bear MOWGLI. Baby Wentz weighed in at 7 lbs., 11 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t stand a chance of not being made fun of by Kingston, Harlow and Max Liron. Somehow I think Bronx Mowgli just takes that cake.

Paris Hilton dumped semi-serious boyfriend Benji Madden. The couple had been together since February, and Paris had nothing but good things to gush about him on her recent spot on the Tyra Banks show. So what went wrong? Sources say Madden was “too overprotective and controlling” and that he didn’t “get along with any of her friends.” (Shock. They would strike me as such deep, interesting people with meaningful lives.)

One Madden kicked to the curb, one to go.

I found this pretty mind boggling, but in 30 states — THIRTY — you can be fired for being gay or lesbian. December 10, 2008 is unofficially designated Day Without A Gay. “Fight the H8 with love. Take the day off work and volunteer to be of service.” In my opinion, a worthy use of some PTO.

While one C state on the West coast banned it last week, another on the East coast made it legal today. Connecticut state courts ruled a gay marriage ban to be unconstitutional last month and began officiating same-sex marriages today. California’s ruling on Prop 8 may have set the gay rights movement back, but this news coming out of Connecticut gives all of us equal-rights activists hope.

Perhaps my favorite sign of protest:

“Brigham Young had 55 wives. I just want 1.”

Adam Sandler and wife Jackie welcomed a daughter — Sunny Madeline — November 2. This makes baby #2 for the couple who have been married since 2003. They welcomed their first child, Sadie two years ago.

Sources say neither child can “wipe their own ass” at this time.
