Graziano Family Files Suit Against Hogans

Friday, March 28th, 2008

graziano_hogan180.jpgThe family of 23-year-old U.S. Marine John Graziano, critically injured in a car crash last August as a result of Nick “Hogan” Bollella’s reckless driving, has filed a law suit against the Hogan family.

Graziano’s guardian has filed a civil lawsuit claiming that Terry (aka Hulk Hogan), Linda and Nick Bollea were “negligent in the events leading up to the crash that severely injured Graziano.”  As a result of the accident, a portion of Graziano’s frontal brain lobe was removed, and he will need constant care for the rest of his life.  The suit will likely run into millions of dollars, and any money gained will be placed in a special trust fund for Graziano’s care.

Daniel Jacobs, the driver of the car Nick Bollela was racing, was also named in the suit.  Jacobs pleaded no contest to a charge of reckless driving.  Bollea faces several felony charges as a result of the tragic crash.

As the dust from the 3-month writers’ strike begins to settle, NBC’s hit sitcom Scrubs has begun production on the last of its seventh and final season…for NBC. But the doctors and nurses of Sacred Heart will more than likely continue practicing medicine in and eighth season for ABC.

While an official announcement has yet to be made and neither network is commenting at this time, sources are reporting that “ABC is inches away from closing the deal with all parties and has secured the entire cast for an eighth season that will include eighteen additional episodes.”

OTC Gets New Meaning with DNA Test

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

So many things are over the counter these days. Sleeping pills. Diabetes management supplies. Even the controversial “morning after” pill can now be obtained without a doctor’s prescription. Women can find out if they’re preggers by peeing on a stick, and diabetics can test their blood sugar with a store-bought kit.

But a paternity test? Pharmacies in 30 states are now selling them OTC for the low low price of $29.99. The kit comes complete with swabs for collecting cell samples from the inside of the cheeks of the child and the “alleged” father. They are then mailed to a lab in Utah for analysis. Consumers can receive their results via phone, mail or online and are assured 98 percent to 99 percent accuracy. While the kit costs 30 bucks, the lab fees run about $120.

What will they come up with next???

How Brit Got Her Career Back on Track

If last night’s ratings of CBS’s How I Met Your Mother are any indication of how Britney Spears’ personal life is cleaning up, there may be hope for the star yet.  According to Nielsen ratings, the show averaged nearly a million more viewers this week — 10.6 million viewers, up from last week’s 9.7 million.

She seems fairly normal and well adjusted in these clips…Or maybe she’s just a good actor? Really, either option is not very likely. Guess we have to keep watching to find out how the drama continues to unfold.

“Brit”com is Must See TV

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

britney_spears.jpgBritney Spears is making her way back into mainstream media, but not via the music industry.  Rather, the pop princess will guest star on CBS’s sitcom How I Met Your Mother.  It is not yet confirmed if it will be a one-time appearance or an ongoing role.

If nothing else, it’s gotta beat Britney & Kevin: Chaos.  Although I still don’t think I’ll be tuning in for it, even for Doogie Houser’s sake.
